Bump in Comp as Associate before VP
I’m an Associate in a major market working for a large developer. There’s no Senior Associate level at my firm, and I don’t receive carry — just base and bonus. If I’m likely not being promoted to VP yet, what should I ask for or expect in terms of a compensation bump?
What do you make now and what is VP comp at your firm?
Likewise, how long have you been an associate and why do you think you will not get the promotion?
pretty minimal comp bumps in my experience. like 3-8% annually or so
This is what I see, we aren't NYC, we go 2.5%-5.5% depending on the year we had, last couple been bad.
Typically if it's an acutal promotion it's been 11.5-20% increases just on base alone. Usually another 5-10% on bonus/carry/vest
I am at $125k with ~25% bonus as an associate at this firm for 1.5 years here and 5 years of total experience. I just received 5% raise with 22% for year end Is this under market?
