Buying individual properties out of foreclosure

does anyone have any experience buying individual properties out of foreclosure? is this still a feasible tactic or is the market too efficient with too many people hunting for the same deals? any resources that anyone would be able to recommend?

it seems like lots of firms do this on a portfolio level--lone star, starwood, etc all buy npl portfolios and workout/foreclose--but is this also done on an individual level?

any insight would be greatly appreciated!
