Capital markets analyst comp
Hey everyone,
Curious to get your thoughts on what comp would look like for analysts at CRE capital markets advisory firms, specifically structured debt and equity placement on individual properties. Revenue is from origination fees, not anything from ownership/asset management.
I’ve heard crazy bonus figures at boutique capital market firms but curious if others could share. Does JLL / CBRE pay the best in this category? Or how is pay at the mid to smaller shops and boutiques?
I have 1.5 year CRE experience in NYC and was quoted $85k base and bonus $20-$40k. Is this market for T1 city or more on the low end?
That is very low all in comp, especially the bonus range.
When I was hired as an analyst at a d/e shop in 2019, my base was $82k in New York. Bonuses around 70-80%, granted those years were hot. But my base climbed to $115k by the time I left (2024) and bonuses stayed in that same range.
What were your hours like?
Pretty consistent at 50-60 per week
