Career advice - Thoughts?
8 years of working experience in audit / valuation at big 4 in both the USA and Europe (focus in RE with exposure to other alternatives). Recently joined a small service provider to support coo on their operational strategy. It’s a very unique role but I can’t get over the idea of investment manager position as that’s something I’ve been wanting for a long time.
Any thoughts on how to navigate my ways into the role? I’m open to starting again from the bottom if necessary, but not sure how to go about it. Any word of advice is appreciated!
Have you tried applying, networking, or otherwise just going for positions like what you seek? I'm not sure what if anything is your unique challenge. Lots of people make this type of jump, I mean just see how many WSO posts are basically "I want to go buyside from sellside" (that is what this sounds like tbh). Not saying it's easy, but many have followed similar paths.
