CBRE Global Investors Offer
Hi all, I recently got an offer to join CBRE Global Investors for REPE. I was wondering on any thoughts on their current state / future.
I understand that they are currently Ranked 11 on the PERE 100 list and would like to hear some thoughts on if this is a solid choice to start my career in real estate.

Vanilla REPE firm but still great. If you choose to leave, you will have wonderful exits. Although I don't think most people leave these cushy vanilla firms (good pay and work life balance, culture is usually strong, etc.) and I wouldn't either. End of the day, take the offer. Your career will be off to a great start.

Not sure, I'd recommend going on LinkedIn and see where former analysts have ended up. Of all the analysts I know at CBRE GI, two are still there and one exited as an associate at Fortress.
Unfortunately I am not familiar with recruiting at the mega-funds nor will I probably have the chance (or want) to work at one but I see no reason why you wouldn't get interviews coming from CBRE GI.
If those firms really matter to you, then you should just plan on doing your 2-3 years at CBRE GI, paying the fee for a top MBA and aiming for grad recruiting. That is the most rational/likely path. Not sure if I would really spend much time trying to "lateral out of such a job, seems pointless.
I mean, do you have any competing offers???
This is a very well respected firm and true household name in the industry, I cannot think of a legit reason you would turn this down unless you are accepting some alternative offer you like better.

Congrats, it's a great offer. Don't know why you need the opinion of an internet forum to decide your career path though. Also, the overuse of "REPE" isn't really necessary
