Charleston, SC Firms
Looking to make a move from the Midwest to Charleston, SC (slew of reasons - main one being family). Seems that shops are far and few between besides Greystar obviously.
Any recommendations of smaller family offices, companies with satellite offices in Charleston, or companies that most people just may not be aware of?
Background: 3-5 YOE in retail underwriting (mall to mixed use repositioning ) - not looking to remain in retail necessarily

The Beach Company, South Street Partners, Industrial/Retail focused offices of national brokerages

Ziff Real Estate Partners. They have a retail arm, team looks small so may be difficult to get a spot. You may have to change asset classes though to stay in CRE down there. There won’t be nearly as many opportunities for employment in a smaller market like Charleston.
This was a super annoying one to break into with the current Associate almost gatekeeping opportunities / not willing to pass along resume to MGMT or being overall unhelpful. Check out Medalist Capital too...debt brokerage shop that does really well in the Southeast. Think Jamestown has a small office for the Morrison Yard development too.
