Commercial Appraisals

Hello all,I am currently a student in college majoring in Real Estate and was interested in the appraisal field. I was hoping that someone could break down the process for a commercial appraisal, basic process is okay, and tell me about the fee base compensation. For instance, how much your average fees were per appraisal and what percentage you got and how often you completed deals. Please include any personal experience and opinions for someone looking to enter CRE out of school! Thank you so much for your time, it is very appreciated.

I feel like I am more on the entrepreneurial side, so eventuality I would like to start my own appraisal business or real estate investment firm, but that is far from now I feel like. I would like to get into a field that pays very well so I can save up to start that company and that can teach me the most about all forms of commercial real estate as I am interested in so many different areas. I was intrigued by the fee based commission in appraisals but didn’t know a lot about the frequency of deals in commercial, from my understanding if I went towards the analyst route it would be closer to a $80k salary, which I hope to achieve higher eventually.
