Commercial Real Estate Investment Sales Experience

I am a sophomore undergrad at a semi-target school and I have the opportunity to intern at HFF on their investment securities side, however, I know that commercial real estate would not be the area I hope to get into after graduation. How relevant would this experience be to other areas in buy-side Asset Management like research analyst or equity research? Would this be a better sophomore internship than the typical PWM one?

“Nick was fantastic. He didn’t just glance at my resume and give me generic advice—he explained exactly why it wasn’t telling the story I wanted it to tell, then helped me figure out how to fix it. He pushed me to be more intentional about how I talk about my experience and gave me concrete steps to prepare for interviews, from tailoring my resume to practicing financial modeling.
