Commission of LP equity at REPE
Any insight if there is usually any commission on sourcing LP equity on a deal? I know it probably depends on the shop but just wondering if that is even a thing.

Career Resources
Heard about people getting 1% of whatever they bring in. My shop does not do it, but bringing in capital is the only way to move up in the firm/get good bonuses so its practically a requirement at every level.
Every major brokerage shop has a capital markets team sourcing LP equity. Commissions are usually 0.50%-1.5% of the equity sourced. In-house guys sourcing equity for their firm's deals may have a bonus structure for equity raised, same if you work for a capital provider and you place a certain $ amount in a given year. Those numbers can fluctuate shop to shop, market to market.
2%-3% is market rate for Equity, Mezzanine or Pref. Sometimes for programmatic relationships, deals are structured as a recurring payment for deals done after the first deal.
