Companies that pay for Grad school

Hi All,

I am curious if it is common for any of the investment banks to pay for Grad school? I would like to get my MBA but I obviously would rather a company help me with it than take on all those school loans.

Thank you

I haven't heard of this, but have heard of companies reimbursing for classes depending on whether they are applicable to the position someone is in / wants to be in and a particular grade level. I would be leary of negotiating for reimbursement in lieu of salary increase just because next year you'll still be at that same salary level as opposed to $4-6k higher. I'd much rather take the salary increase and come out of pocket for the class if it came down to it

I've negotiated it as part of my sign-on bonus. Just make sure you quote grossed up figures. In my case, there was I believe a year waiting period before qualifying for tuition reimbursement. Since I would have been done with grad school by then I had it bundled into the sign-on.

Across four FT jobs I've had, sign-on bonus is some of the easiest money to obtain from an employer and to negotiate. Whereas I generally have gotten about ~70% of the salary increase I request, sign-on is 100%.

My bank pays for a % of my MBA tuition (flex program) and I know a lot of large banks or institutions do as well. You typically have to have been there for a year (or more) and they like you to stay on for a couple years after too.
