Company asks everyone to work in office

One close colleague tested positive 10 days ago and developed pneumonia yesterday. Another called sick day today. Everyone else was kept in the dark and HR refuses to disclose details. They only sanitized the office while rest employees were having company lunch in the conference room, not even closing down the office for ONE day. Boss would call someone personally when they’re WFH or PTO to ask why they’re not in. Our health is put at risk everyday. The only way out is to quit which a few colleagues already did. Does this happen to your workplace?

I'd be looking for a new job based on your boss calling people at home when they're sick or taking time off. Is he a nanny? Are you an 18 year old working a minimum wage retail job? Fuuuuuck that.

The health thing is more complicated. HR may be worried about disclosing medical info. Obviously you should personally go get tested.

Time to move on.  Not like these guys will pay you what you're worth or look out for your best professional interest if they can't even be bothered to look out for your literal health.

People like your boss are what ruin this world. We are in a health crisis and no amount of money should be placed over the well-being of an employee. You are not a health care worker or grocery store associate, which are essential. I am sure you can remote in from work. If your boss just wants people in the office to see everyone's face, then he lacks serious morals. I would consider applying around as this is not a place where you want to be long-term. Lots of pricks in this industry, but also lots of great people too that will respect you as a person.
