Company Taking Forever to Get Back To Me

Had an in person interview and they said their boss would follow up with a phone interview. It's been almost a month and no one has reached out. I've emailed the person I interviewed with and she has not responded, this is for a position at a big company so I'm assuming it takes a while and the person that's supposed to call is busy. Also may be hard for her to tell her boss hey call this kid.

Anyone deal with this and what was the outcome? I felt based on the interview I was a great fit, it went well, and I really want the job.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Big companies tend to have long processes from the time they begin their search until they make a final offer. By long, I mean it could be 60 days rather than 2 to 3 weeks for some small firms. It is frustrating that people don't respond back to you, its more than likely they just don't have an answer about what or when the next step is.

If they get back to you and your still in the market, great move forward. Otherwise keep hunting till you lock something in, and if you make it to the finish line with another role you can bring it up to them and that will probably get their attention to respond.

I'd also recommend early on in the first interview or during any phone screenings to just ask about the hiring or interview timeline. What they tell you, or how it's answered can give good insight into how things will pan out and what to prepare for.
