CoStar acquires Ten-X

I think Ten X had some good ideas but I've never been impressed.

CoStar aka The Evil Empire seems to have the FB model down pat. Just be the first one to get big and then you can buy out all your competitors. No problem mon!

CoStar, the world's best example of something being better than nothing, but still not being any good.

This is just an expansion of CoStar’s continued efforts to cut into the broker’s spread.

Will it succeed? Probably. However, there will always be value in a broker who can sell without the the help of an online auction or loopnet for that matter.

From my POV, ten x is more applicable to tertiary markets and distressed assets.
