CRE Finance Book Recommendations
I’m an AM analyst at a boutique PE shop wanting to learn more about the capital markets/ debt & equity side of CRE for an eventual career pivot. Does anyone have any book recommendations to help learn about CRE finance? Thanks.
To deepen your understanding of CRE finance, particularly the capital markets and debt/equity aspects, here are some highly recommended books based on the most helpful WSO content:
"Real Estate Finance & Investments: Risks and Opportunities" by Peter Linneman
"Commercial Real Estate Analysis and Investments" by David M. Geltner
"The Real Estate Game" by William Poorvu
"What Every Real Estate Investor Needs to Know About Cash Flow" by Frank Gallinelli
"Real Estate Finance and Investments" by William Brueggeman
These books will provide a solid foundation in CRE finance and help you prepare for a career pivot into the capital markets or debt/equity side of the industry.
-CRE Analysis & Investments by Geltner is probably my favorite but definitely reads like a textbook.
-Peter Linnemans book is good and probably an easier read compared to Geltners book
-Bruggemans book is good
Same, although I wish they updated it since the last version is dated 2006?
