CRE Finance Career Path
For about 4.5 years, I've been working a Senior Analyst for a boutique mixed-use commercial real estate development, property management and asset management firm in Washington, DC. I do an even mix of the following: analysis of revenue projections, debt service analysis, operations analysis, leasing commissions and profiles analysis, and tenant ledger analysis. I'm interesting in moving into the buy-side of CRE, but have been approached to work for a debt shop. Would that provide me with leverage to move into the buy-side later on or is that an unnecessary or ineffective career move?
