CRE Internships - Boston

Hi everyone,

I am currently an undergraduate student (rising junior) at a non-target. This summer, I have been interning at a boutique development/capital firm in Massachusetts. I am hoping to intern elsewhere next summer, before my senior year, in hopes of getting a job offer for after graduation. I have been focusing my search on firms similar to the one I am at now, being smaller boutique development firms, as I am loving the work environment/pace. I also was hoping to stay in the Boston area. My only problem is that none of the firms I am interested in seem to have any mention of internships, either on their website, linked in, etc. That being said, does anyone have any advice for me on how to move forward? Is the only way to get internships at these types of firms to know someone, or to network? That is how I got my current internship, but I would rather apply/interview somewhere and get a job myself than have my parents ask around to see who knows who that can get me an interview type of thing. Thank you for any help, and please let me know if sharing the names of the specific firms I've been looking at would be beneficial.
