CRE Professionals: Anyone Open to Taking on an Intern?

WSO, I'm hoping to catch my first break in the real estate industry and have gotten dinged in final rounds with a few CRE brokerage offices and (non RE)PE shops. As a sophomore at Michigan Ross I've got experience in LBO modeling and PE overall from my work at a BB's IM division last summer as well as a 3.5+ and investment club experience. If anyone in brokerage, acquisitions, development, underwriting or asset management thinks their firm could potentially take me on please comment or message.

In my humble opinion, this forum is not a good place to look for an internship. Sign up for Google Job Alerts, LinkedIn job updates, look up RE jobs on UMich career net. Polish up your resume and actively apply/network but using WSO as a means of finding a job (rather than a forum for getting advice to find a job) seems a bit silly.

So then assess what you are doing wrong during these interviews. If you have had final rounds and gotten dinged, then reach out to the recruiter/interviewers and request constructive feedback then improve from there.

I'm looking for an internship in Kansas City. I know it's not Houston but do you happen to know anyone in this market? I'm looking to network and meet people for an internship this summer.

There are so many small local shops...I may be in the minority here but being you are just a sophomore you should call these places and offer to work for free. Then you will have real estate experience on your resume which is worth more that a few $ per hour over the summer.

Ended up taking an offer with a REIT in CA. To future sophomores even in late May you can finesse something. Apparently someone from the intern class I’m joining dropped out last minute.
