Does anyone have any insight on what it is like to work at HSBC in the USA or any other investment bank in the commercial banking division, underwriting CRE? If you are currently in debt underwriting would you chose this over something like CBRE, JLL, Walker & Dunlop etc.

For one, the shops you listed act like brokers in every space except Agency, so is this an agency underwriting role or a debt broker role?
Anyways, take a look at the deals they have underwrote and closed. Should give you an idea as to what type of strategy they have and what asset types/markets they go after. If I remember correctly, @Brody92" works at an IB doing CRE underwriting so maybe he can share some insight.
