Which school is the better choice? I know NYU is higher ranked and has a better alumni base , but I'm hoping to live in LA after completing the program. Does the prestige of NYU outweigh the location of Pepperdine (Malibu)?

NYU is clearly better. If you want to be in LA, go to USC before going to Pepperdine.
