Development Acquisition Tactics - Texas

I just signed on with a highly capitalized family office with the means to close quickly on anything within the $1M - $5M deal size range in Dallas. Didn't come from a M&M or brokerage firm with any training on prospecting or cold calling techniques. Have moved into a more acquisition heavy role in terms of finding value add retail development assets (covered land play, blend & extend, redevelopment deals mainly).

Hitting the phones and finding deals is new territory for me, any techniques or resources that could assist in the transition?

you could go on loopnet and search listings that fit your requirements. you’ll get the names and numbers of brokers who specialize in the types of deals your looking for. Cold call them and have a chat. they’ll add you to their email list.

I'm looking at a potential similar role for a small family office in FL, would love to hear any update on strategies you've found successful or any other commentary on the job so far
