Development Blogs and Podcasts

Hey Monkeys,

I read an article about the World Logistics Center being built in California and became curious about the world of dev. Specifically industrial dev. I am looking to further my knowledge on the subject. Does anyone have any favorite CRE Dev. resources they enjoy and have found useful? I have tried googling these things but it has become analysis paralysis so I thought I'd ask you guys. Thanks in advance.

The Fort is pretty good. Probably a 50% hit rate in terms of interest-level for me, but that's not bad. He's definitely more focused on the operator level, so if you are looking for a more macro, institutional level podcast, it's not that.

I tried looking for ones years back, but never found any that were really solid. Interested to hear if there are others on here who have come across ones that fit the bill.

I'm sure you've probably got a CRE market one that you know of refer to, but I'd point you to also look for one that provides construction news. Construction news is helpful because it explains why we experience costs rises in certain items, and why the whole development budget has suddenly jumped out the window.

Not industrial/development specific, and my knowledge is limited for US-specific podcasts (PM me if you want Canada-oriented ones), but...

- Leading Voice in Real Estate

- The Weekly Take from CBRE

- Nareit's REIT Report

- The TreppWire Podcast

- Driven by Insight (Walker & Dunlop produces it, often strays from CRE to more general business leadership discussions but has lots of CRE material as well)

Commercial Real Estate Podcast is the best Canada-focused one by far, its two guys from First National. Commercial Real Estate Library is also good but not as consistent with releasing new episodes.

Slate just started producing one, only one episode so far so hard to say how good it will be. Colliers Talks is hit or miss depending on subject matter, same with Altus Insights.
