Development to acq/ repe?
Hey guys,
Anyone ever see someone make the jump from development/ project management at a small developer to an acquisitions role?
Is this doable or just an uphill battle?

Yes- I went from MF development to MF REPE (acquisitions - LP side). When in development, I helped prepare private-placement memos for GP syndications. I redacted two of these and brought them as work samples. My knowledge of the GP side really helped. Wasn't a hard transition at all. LP's underwrite deals much differently (much higher level of scrutiny), which took some getting used to, but everything else went/is going great!
Thanks for the insight, how long were you with the developer for?
Just shy of 2 years
