Difference in job functions Cap Trans Analyst VS Investment Analyst
Hello all,
This might be a silly question and apologies in advance if it is. I wanted to know is there a difference between working as an analyst in a capital transaction team within a commercial real estate owner (e.g. Dexus, Investa, Stocklands) VS working as an analyst within the Investment/acquisitions team of an investment manager (e.g. Brookfield, BlackRock). Both roles seem to be at the junior level building valuation models, analytical work etc and both invest directly and via funds.
Is there a fundamental difference or is it purely semantics?
Thanks!
G
Capital Transactions are what the Aussie REITs call their acquisition team. The work they do is the same as what I do as an investment analyst for an investment manager
