Early Career Change | Brokerage to Development

-two years out of college, Finance Degree from large state school in the SEC

-Post grad been a multi-market RE associate at one of the big 3 brokerages

-Would like to transition to development but don't have MSRE/modeling certifications

Am I SOL or are there companies out there that would hire me for an entry level position? Would love to hear any personal experience suggestions or comments.

Nah, you're not shit out of luck, or at least not any more than anyone else is. Your background is fine, and sure an MRED/MSRE would help, but the biggest problem is just the market right now. There are 1,000 applicants for every job.

Go out there, network, and try to find something, but don't get discouraged if it takes a long time.

Any recommendations for development networking? I was aggressively setting up calls and meetings with people to get into brokerage but wonder if there’s any specific advice in how I should approach. This is a pretty open ended question so please take it however. Thanks
