Posted this on the IB forum but didn't get any traction. Curious if you guys have any comments on Eastdil's Investment Banking team. Would love to hear about deal flow/comp etc

If there were recent and relevant answers to my question I wouldn't need to post this

Does Eastdil even have an IB arm anymore???? The team that was there when I worked there all got moved over to Wells Fargo and became REGAL at the time of the split with Wells. I would imagine any operation left has to be quite small.
I believe they call it: M&A and Corporate Advisory now. Saw a few postings on Linked In for 2022 analyst recruitment:
"Our M&A and Corporate Advisory team is dedicated to understanding the unique competitive and operating environments of our public and private real estate clients. The group uniquely combines strong relationships and real estate knowledge with superior capital markets and advisory expertise to steadfastly provide clients with outstanding advice through any phase of strategic growth and execution. The M&A and Corporate Advisory Team is based out of Eastdil Secured’s New York and San Francisco offices."
Yes they do, primarily in NY but some in SF I believe. Strong team and deal flow
Very strong group that works on a variety of deals
Thanks, do you have any data on bonus figures?? Saw on WSO database that AN1 base seemed to be $80k, which would be low even pre-GS13. Was curious if numbers moved to reflect bumps across street.
When I was there the AN1 pulled like 175k all-in and that was with a 70k Base (in my office). I was told that the IB folk make even more on a good year. One thing not to worry about with Eastdil is comp. I know a lot of people who have left and not a single one was because of pay.
Very small group post-WF. Probably 15-20 people total maybe split between NY/SF. 3-5 senior bankers stayed on and they still probably have the best group in the industry. They don't have a traditional hiring process anymore and interns got screwed last summer at Eastdil, so probably a better move to start in a BB REGAL group especially with recent comp raises.
How did interns get screwed last summer? Like they cancelled the SA program last minute due to COVID?
2 week internship, essentially unpaid, and left all interns hanging at end of summer (no returns extended except for a few late spring senior year after all recruiting ended and pretty sure they had to reinterview and everything). Some of the kids ended up in great spots (MF RE, REGAL, smaller REPEs like Northwood, Madison etc.) and others had to take a huge step down. It was a complete mess to say the least, and shows how much they care about their junior employees.
