Eastdil Secured London Summer Analyst Experience
Hi guys,
I am lucky to receive a summer analyst offer from Eastdil Secured based in London. Could anyone shed some lights on the summer analyst/analyst experience at the firm? Work/culture/pay...any insights will be appreciated...btw, do they still offer expensed lunch and dinner?

Depends on where you're staffed, but expect typical IB hours.

Sort of - you're going to be filling holes where needed. So I guess that constitutes as rotation, but not really by design.
They have a very structured SA program.
My understanding is that you'll spend the first week or so getting trained in a separate area with your class and then be brought on to live deals. Big emphasis on improving presentation/public speaking skills also.
At the end of your internship you'll have a capstone project where you'll underwrite a real deal, develop a recommendation, and present it to whomever that client may be (usually someone very senior within a known firm). That client will then give feedback to all of the interns.
Eastdil is putting a lot of effort into growing their London (European) and Asia offices, so I would imagine it will be pretty active in that office.
Pretty spot on, though a lot of that came down from Wells. It was not loved by those at ES outside the IB guys, so I suspect a lot of the on-boarding BS will go away with them out of the picture.

In my opinion it's definitely the best Eastdil office, major deal flow, great culture, you work across Europe and you learn a lot. I highly recommend it - it'll be long hours but they put a lot of effort into making your summer as productive as possible.
Thank you for the information! What kind of deal exposure can I expect? Will I mainly work on property sales or there will be other opportunities such as financing?
It depends on what's available but both are options. All interns and analysts are generalists and so get staffed as needed. If you get promoted to associate you'd join a specific team.
prepare for the hours lol. going to be 9-12 every day of the week. including weekends!
even now with COVID?
unprecedented times - but I can’t imagine you not being needed to be on call at those times.
