Entry level positions
I’m looking to make a career move at the beginning of next year into CRE ideally originations. What would be the best route to take. Would just going straight into lending be the move or should I try to find some valuations analyst role? Back story I have a year of intern ExP at mid lvl shop and currently work in derivatives.
Hey SethDavis1, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I am sad to say, but this thread is lonely, so thought I'd post in here to try and help out. Some potential topics that might help:
You're welcome.
Origination of what? Debt?
Yes.
Credit analyst role at a bank is probably the most common.
Or at a life company, CMBS, or debt fund.
Thanks a lot. Would a generally credit analyst position be good enough experience to leverage into a different RE position.
Like a commercial banking for middle market companies, probably not. Focus on real estate gigs. The downside with banks is you may not get Argus experience, which depending where you want to go with your career, is important.
