Good firm and rep, and good place to cut your teeth.  Great quality of life gig.  They've done well this cycle, and the CalSTRS recap will be big for them going forward as the Brookfield relationship was pretty fried towards the end.  They run acquisitions out of San Diego, Dallas, and DC so being in a hub/the HQ will be good for your career growth.  You'll cover a ton of markets which is a great way to start out.  You'll either stay forever or need to move out of San Diego if you want to stay in multifamily though (assuming you don't want to be a developer).  Gino is also one of my favorite people in real estate.
