Financial Analyst role with REIT

Hey guys I wanted to get your input..does anyone know anything about Finance roles with REITs? Is it really just FP&A or also AM type stuff? Role I’m looking at says Argus modeling, lease analysis, CapEx projections, Corp level reporting etc

Last thing I want is a Corp level reporting role with no asset level work.

Can vary a lot by firm. I would anticipate more of the corp level FP&A that you don't want, but it is worth asking. I have worked at a REIT where the financial analysts handled everything from acquisitions & development underwriting, to lease modeling/asset management support, to FP&A and corporate modelling - great to get a variety of experience. Always be upfront about what you want to be doing in the interview, they don't want to put you in a position you aren't going to be happy with any more than you want to be there...

Definitely good question for the team. Variety of responsibilities that could encompass that would be good to understand: (1) acquisition/development underwriting, (2) lease analysis, capital planning and general AM or (3) FP&A, corporate finance, budgeting, reporting, etc... My guess is that if they are calling it FP&A it is going to be closer to #3, but certainly worth the ask.
