Financial analysts at a Development Company — what do you do?

Looking for as broad or as specific as you feel like sharing.

Just got into this role and I’m pumped. I am new to the real estate industry but not to the financial analysis type of work. Once I set up some key dashboards and develop some reporting that the higher ups need, I’m gonna be working on some models doing scenario analyses and seeing how that plays out. This is a new position for the company so I have the power to essentially make this role into whatever I want. The only problem is I don’t know what ideas to bring to the table.. looking for some inspiration or guidance from anyone who has been in this position. My manager has been good about including me in all of calls and getting exposure to as many projects as possible.

Side note: I’ve been told this could be a runway into being a development manager later on. Maybe any tips on what to incorporate now to help prep for this if I take that path.
