Finding a Decent RE Headhunter

Hey all,

First time poster, long term reader.

Wanted to get the communities thoughts on connecting with a good NYC based headhunter/recruiter.

I have been at my current company (public REIT) for over 6 years and was promoted to Vice President this past summer. I am primarily involved in sourcing/underwriting new acquisitions but also help manage the portfolio. My comp is okay @ $175k, bonus is light 15%, but heavily rewarded with shares (different vesting schedules either 3 or 5 year) about equal to my salary. Generally happy about my work/life balance and my day to day.

Every time a recruiter tracks me down through LinkedIn for a job it has not been a fit (either too large a step down or the company is not established enough to make the jump). But I always mention to keep me in mind for other opportunities in the REPE, REIT, HF industries and never hear back. I recently made an effort to reach out to some of the recruiters I have worked with over the years and none of them got back to me. One of them was even a direct response to their happy holiday email....

So I am thinking.. maybe I am just working with the wrong people. Any suggestions?

Thanks for taking the time to read this!
