Foot in the door, now what?

What’s everyone’s end goal in dev? Would you take any position in a development company just to get CRE industry experience? Career paths thus far and ideal future path?

Asking bc I just landed a “financial analyst, development” position at a dev company with a few years analyst experience outside the CRE industry.

Now that I finally have my foot in the door, I’m having a hard time figuring out what I’m working towards next..It’s like I worked to get here and now I’m thinking “now what?” Obviously don’t want to be an analyst forever. I essentially have the flexibility to turn this role toward whatever I want it to be, but what are examples of what’s next ?

My end goal is to develop my own projects instead of being a development manager for my current boss.

I can't exactly tell you what your end goal should be.
