For those that work exclusively in multifamily, would NAIOP or ULI be more beneficial?

Interested in joining one of these organizations as a young professional looking to grow their network. I work in multifamily acquisitions. I know ULI is very beneficial for developers focused on local politics, projects, etc...and NAIOP's website says it "is the leading organization for developers, owners and related professionals in office, industrial and mixed-use real estate. " (does not mention multifamily).

I'm not as interested as the nuts and bolts of my local market's projects and politics since my firm invests nationally, but I am also not interested in office/industrial/retail that NAIOP appears to focus on.

Which would you all recommend?

There's an organization called NMHC, believe it stands for National Multi Housing Conference or something like that. Don't think it's as involved/frequent as NAIOP or ULI but I went to the conference last time when they held it in San Diego and it was worth it. Good content and programming. Plenty of networking opps.

"Who am I? I'm the guy that does his job. You must be the other guy."

ULI is a great organization to become a part of. Your ultimate goal should be to get on a national product council that's where you're going to get the best networking and access to real deal info.

ULI and NMHC, in my opinion. Also look into organizations that are only specific to your city. Atlanta, for instance, has about 3 that are not national yet are worth being a part of.
