The number of times someone on the RE forum has asked for a “primer” on a topic: 5,487

The number of RE related primers out there: idk, are there any?

You can’t expect topics you want to learn about to be condensed down into a 10-page “primer”. You have to get out there and start reading, that’s all there is to it. If you search “hotel” on the RE forum there is more info than you could imagine. If you search “hotel offering memo; filetype:pdf” into Google, there will be tons of OMs. Search “hotel” on BisNow. Go to WSJ and search “lodging”. There are 20+ publicly traded hotel REITs with investor relations landing pages where you can review their presentations, earning calls, financial statements etc.

You have to actively read (meaning read and look up things you don’t understand along the way) a bunch of stuff and eventually the pieces of the puzzle will come together

The Wikipedia post was a joke, but now that I think about it reading the Wikipedia page on hotels would be more productive than asking for a primer
