GP to LP Asset Mamagement

Anyone have experience/thoughts moving from the “GP” to ”LP” side for AM? For me it’s specifically from a merchant developer to the debt side of institutional/LifeCo. Pretty big change in scope/personality of work, but main reason entertaining is feeling a want to change it up, “get closer to the capital” (if that’s even accurate to say), increase volume of reps, better potential exit ops. Have a really good footing at current role but potentially have an opportunity that would be a bump in pay, title, etc.

Understand the big picture of going from more boots on the ground to flying higher (worked with AM counter parts on projects).

Know that working for the machines can be bureaucratic but feel like I’ve squeezed a lot of the juice out of my current role and may just be wanting a new challenge. Wouldn’t mind getting a big name on the resume either. Appreciate any insights, tell me if I’m way off. Thanks in advance.
