Hartford, CT Apartment Market Up & Coming

Anyone here familiar with the Downtown Hartford, CT apartment rental market? My group has been tracking it but the city seems pretty sleepy and down on its luck. Any chance its proximity between Boston & NY gives it a tailwind for more growth?

Hartford sits outside of the reasonable commuter zone for NYC and Boston, so it is kind of isolated (and having a shitty airport doesn't help). Still lots of insurance industry there, but it's just a bit too far out of the zone to get to love seen for other NE cities. Who knows, maybe some firms will relo there, but flight times to FL and TX aren't that much more than commute time from the major metros.

Just my personal 2 cents being NYC based, I have no on the ground knowledge of Hartford personally.

I was actually reading an article this past weekend about the city’s bad finances and how much it just sucks in general. Doesn’t seem like it’ll be that easy to revitalize. Good pizza though I guess.

Right right, I was in New Haven once and was at Pepe's, good stuff. Sounds like Hartford ahs nothing going for it!

What about investments in Middletown/Cromwell CT? From what I know, it's supply constrained and there's room for Class B competition
