Best advice I can give is simple....

Demonstrate how you are already doing the more senior title/role's job, as in where/what have you already progressed past your current title. If you can show you already 50% there or more, then the promotion makes sense. 

Otherwise, it is more of a jump and you have to sell "why" you can do the next job. You can focus on how awesome you are at current job, but what matters is how good you are at the next job, so really focus on why you can (or are) capable.
