How easy to switch between asset classes within RE?

I have recently been offered a RE asset management position in the US for a company that specializes in SFH, but how easy would it be to lateral to other asset classes within Real Estate *multu-family, logistics, etc) as well as from asset management to acquisitions down the road? Your insights appreciated, thanks.

People jump around all the time, this is not as hard as people think it is for some reason... I'll make a simple point, SFHs were not even a recognized institutional asset class until about 2011/2012, and then only a very few groups developed any focus in it. SO..... everyone who entered into the space came from some other asset class (exempting any direct college hires)!!!

Literally, the asset class you reference MUST be filled with people who did other things (or everyone is new/junior, which I doubt), so I think you can rest easy on this one.
