How long until you get promoted to associate at a development or acquisitions shop?
See title. How long does it typically take for an analyst at a development or acquisitions shop to get promoted to associate?
Also, for companies looking to hire associates, how much experience would they be looking for in a candidate?
I'd say it's general 1-2 years depending on a number of factors including performance, deal flow, structure of the shop (how flat it is), etc.
1-3 years.
at the big developer I work at, almost all outside associate hires were post MBA, or already had associate titles at their prior job.
1-4 years. Many firms don’t have an ‘analyst’ title and many may not have senior associate either. It’s all pretty firm dependent.
