How to deal with a senior person who was rude on future deals

May be I shouldn't be so sensitive, but is there a way to deal with a senior professional you've worked with who is rude and may have to continue to work with in the future.

Background I was brought in on a deal with my boss and this person who know each other well, he was a broker from another firm on the other side.

A few weeks later I saw him on my own at an end of the year party and decided to go up/talk to him. I introduced myself said I worked with x senior person who he knows well. He didn't say anything just looked at me and straight ignorned me. Instead of even saying anything he turned his back and started to talk to some other guy.

I understand I'm not the top of the totem poll, but is this the norm? He seemed like a massive asshole to not even give me the time of day and not sure how to go about things like this if you have to work with that person in the future. Am I supposed to swallow my pride and do what I need to on future deals? Seems so, just looking for advice.

Fuck his wife. When he comes up to you and tries to challenge you over this, ignore him and keep doing what your doing. Then that night go and fuck his wife again.

Skin him, and wear his skin-suit, along with his real suit overtop, to his office the next day.

Seriously though, what exactly is the alternative to ignoring it? The guy seems like a prick, but other than just remembering that he's a prick, I'm not even sure what a person would do other than just move on.

Yes. There's really not much else to do. Respectfully, this doesn't seem that bad, and I think you need to realize that. They just ignored you, it's not like they insulted you or yelled at you anything like that.

you didn't mention if you asked a specific question and got ignored, or if you just said hello and expected this other person to carry the conversation...in which case....don't do that

just google it...you're welcome

Did you interrupt him mid conversation? Sounds odd that you’d introduce yourself and he would just turn around and talk to someone he wasn’t talking to prior. Even if you did, still not a professional way to handle it on his end.

RE in particular has a lot of brokers and middlemen who think they’re far more important than they are, don’t let it get to you if they act like an asshole.
