How to transition into Real Estate?

Hi all,

I am about to start my career in Houston as a credit analyst and then I'll transition to an RM. I'm hoping to get into the CRE department because CRE is ideally where I'd like to be. However, I was wondering the exit opportunities for CRE lending? I'd ideally like to work for a developer or a REIT. If needed, I can go to UH for the MBA and get the Real Estate certificate but that won't be for a few years. I'm currently trying to teach myself RE modeling and whatnot since I graduate tomorrow. Any tips or advice? Thanks!
