Interested in NYU Schack MSRE/MSRED

Hey my background is in Public Policy with about 2 years of City Government Experience. I'm interested in doing a career pivot into CRE. My GPA isn't amazing (I slacked off during COVID). Would the GRE/GMAT help compensate/overcome this hurdle and my lack of finance experience? How imperative is it that I learn to model via things like CFI BEFORE beginning an MSRE? I've noticed a lot of talk here about how Schack doesn't adequately train you for models and whatnot

Fair enough, but most seem to be about finance or RE-adjacent background folks asking whether an MSRE would be a meaningful bump to their career. Haven't seen as many questions from people starting cold, which is where I feel I'm at
