Interview at Harbor Group - NYC (Asset Management Analyst)

Has anyone heard back/interviewed yet for the Harbor Group asset management analyst position in there NYC office? Any insight on comp, culture, timeline for bringing someone on.

They are in the top 100 of REPE firms but they only buy stabilized assets. The Asset Management work is likely 100% reporting which would be miserable. Great first job to get yourself into the industry but you'd probably learn more about real estate buying a lemonade stand yourself. 

 

Sorry I don't consider buying new construction and putting in place an in house property management team "value add."

 

I worked as an asset management analyst at HGI. The lionshare of my work was monthly/quarterly reports, budget reforecasting, and new acquisition budgeting. I was making $80k and had a fixed bonus of 10% in my contract. I was not a fan of the work I was doing, but I think it was because I did not like AM work in general.  That being said, I really liked everyone I worked with there and they're definitely smart guys. In terms of the modeling test, know how to use index match match and know how to build a simple proforma. Good luck!
