Is AEW worth it for the clout?
I’m pursuing an analyst job at AEW right now and the more research I do on them they have a great standing on the PERE 100 at number 9. The work hours are on the more realistic side of 8-6 which optimal. The only problem is the compensation is low, will this lower salary balance out later because of the exit opportunities from the firm or is that just a lie I'm telling myself?
Edit for Grammer on mobile app/ Comp is 60k base+bounus
How low is it?
60k which includes base+bonus to live in a major city according to Glassdoor and other forum posts. Please correct if wrong
plz fix
This too
fixed cause I'm a mobile degenerate
Is it NYC or SF?
60k is pretty much where the Big4 starts people and they have similar hours.
They have two offices to my understanding in the US. Boston and LA, mine would be in LA
I wouldn't say your completely under-market at 60k as a first year especially depending on bonus expectations.
I would also ask about growth if you can get to around 90k all in by year 2 it would be pretty fair.
As a an IS Analyst I started at $65K + deal tips... ended up at about ±$85K... So you should aim for that.
Candidly, I don't understand AEW. Either they are the smartest people in the room or the dumbest. The prices they are paying in some of my markets is asinine.
Work there. They do deals... maybe not good ones as of late (TBD). You'll get great exp and will have no problem exiting. Heck, I see upward mobility once all these overpaid deals meet their maker and the deal guy gets axed!
P.S come onnnn guys, sup w the grammar whorishness. Let's not become the IB forum.
If you want to end up on the capital allocation side of the business this would be a great brand to get. I think the exit opportunities would be strong, especially if you went to a strong university.
If it's in acquisitions than take it, if it's in AM then run. $60K is definitely on the low end, especially if you have experience, but I've talked to a guy that works there and the hours and culture and super laid back, so there's that. I feel like market for an analyst in LA is $90-125 all-in, associate is $150-225 all in. There are outliers where you can make more or less of course, just my experience.
