Is capital markets of Cbre/ JLL a good career choice during economic downturn?

Eventually hoping to make a transition to acquisition/development, but given current market conditions these options seem not available. Can JLL/CBRE type of companies be a good career choice during recession because there will be continuous deal flow? Would appreciate your insights.

Little confused by your phrasing. In general, investment sales is not a good place to be in a recession. Debt and equity brokerage are better but deal flow is by no means continuous. Capital raising for development will be minimal. Debt and equity for new acquisitions will be limited to the amount of transactions which will be materially lower. A lot of your work will be on refinances, re-capitalizations, and some distressed/rescue capital situations. That being said, if you are moving into an analyst role, you will still be underpaid within in a recession or not :)
