JLL Capital Markets LA

Does anyone have any insight on the interview process for an analyst position at JLL Capital Market team in the LA office? Currently have 1 year of experience at small PE shops where I was in an Asset Management/Acquisition role.

I have heard the LA Capital Market team is all HFF legacy. What can I expect in the initial recruiter phone call, analyst interviews, and MD interviews?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, the interview process for an analyst position at JLL Capital Market team in the LA office might look something like this:

  1. Initial Recruiter Phone Call: This is usually a screening process to assess your basic qualifications and interest in the role. You might be asked about your current role, why you're interested in JLL, and your understanding of the Capital Market team's work.

  2. Analyst Interviews: These could be more technical and might involve discussing your previous experience in detail, especially your roles in Asset Management/Acquisition. You might be asked about specific deals you've worked on, your understanding of the market, and your technical skills.

  3. MD Interviews: These are likely to be a mix of technical and behavioral questions. You might be asked about your long-term career goals, how you handle pressure, and more complex questions about the market or specific deals.

Remember, every interview is a two-way street. It's not just about them assessing you, but also about you assessing if this is the right fit for you. So, don't hesitate to ask questions about the team, the company culture, or the role itself.

And yes, you're right about the LA Capital Market team being all HFF legacy. This could mean that they might value certain skills or experiences more, based on their legacy practices.

Remember, preparation is key. So, brush up on your technical skills, be ready to discuss your experiences in detail, and show them that you're someone who would fit well in their team. Good luck!

i’ll clarify some truths. what you’d expect is 65k out of college with max prob being 75k but that’s def pushing it. only people i know have 65k base for out of undergrad or 70k with 2 years experience. base doesn’t really move after a year. base is very love. then avg yr is 20-30% bonus. that’s not gonna happen this year. then deal tips should push you to 110k ish for an AVERAGE first year. this year is not average nor will next year be average. west coast deal flow at JLL is shot. complete wash. expect to make your base and that’s it if you join. in regards to the interview it’s completely fit based, be cool, don’t oversell yourself, and hopefully you know a producer before you interview
