JLL Investment Sales Interview Advice

All,

I have an interview coming up for an analyst/associate role JLL's investment sales team. For background, I am currently in corporate finance looking to transition industries.

They told me to expect an Excel test, and for the entire interview to last about 3 hours. Can anyone give any insight as to what I should expect for this level of position, having no industry background? My best guess would be putting together a fairly simple pro-forma given the time limits, but I have little to no insight on the process.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Come across as humble with a genuine passion for investment sales. Don't wear a Rolex and Ferragamos to the interview, and make sure to demonstrate how thankful you are for the opportunity. Do NOT come across as entitled in any way, make sure to illustrate you fully understand you will be low man on the totem pole day 1. Talk about how you want to develop your analytical skills, writing, and presentation skills to become the best analyst possible while keeping your eye on the goal of becoming a broker. Don't allude at all to wanting to land on the principal side or your dream of owning your own real estate. This may not hurt you but it will not help you. Discuss sports or other competitive pursuits where you had to work your ass off to win.
