Jumping to MF REPE acquisitions from a non-bank MF lender

Basically what the title says. I work at a large national DUS / balance sheet lender. Im currently a 2nd year analyst (first job) in a HCOL coastal city. I want to make the switch to MF REPE acquisitions but I aM not sure when to do it. I’m also concerned about taking a pay cut as I made ~$160k this year.

Can anyone shed some light on if their firm has hired someone from a production team on the lending side before? If so, was it difficult for that person to secure the role without a masters?

Exactly same profile as you. Looking to make the jump. I have had really good firms show interest in me. My issue is that the large REPEs that I am targeting typically only hire associates who are already well versed in technicals. Basically, they don’t wanna have to train on the basics. I know every new position requires some sort of training but they’re expecting you to hit the ground running.
