Laid off : Current state of job market NYC: DC?
Was recently hit with a layoff. Received salary out package along with bonus and career placement services.
That being said I am hitting the ground running and focusing on the east coast market, trying to get an inside feel on if shops are in an holding pattern with the rate increases along with rent growth dying off in certain sectors. Witnessed alot of re-trades happening before I was out the door along with consistent dip in asset values.
Got solid exposure with working in large investment portfolios value over 5B+. Strong understanding of multiple markets and asset classes with Exp 2+ yr.
Damn. Not in NE so can’t help, but why’d you get laid off? Also, generally speaking, I’m still seeing a good volume of roles in development being available.
In DC but talked to a couple of prominent NYC firms last week and they’re actively UW opportunistic deals. A lot for research purposes but seems like they’re still active and willing to deploy capital.
Were any hiring?
Yup both were 1st round interviews for their acquisitions team
