Land Acquisitions Comp Trajectory
Anyone have an idea how the comp progression goes in land acquisitions at a large home builder? especially at the Sr Manager / Director / VP level? Pulte/DR/TM/Etc
I’m coming from private equity / credit, but have a few years experience at a CRE developer before. One of the big home builders has offered me a role as a Land Acquisition manager in a large sunbelt office. I have no prior experience in land, but was pitched a long runway to learn the ropes and progress rapidly if I succeed.
Year 1 offer is 240k cash (mostly recurring with a 50% bonus target and decent sign on). Question is how does that compare to market and does the progression at Director / VP continue to escalate? I was led to believe a strong VP is in the 500-700k range roughly, and I assume director is somewhere in the middle of the two tittles, but no idea what to think.
